Here's some ear candy for ya'll.
It's for a series of fan-films...like my middle eastern piece...and the concept traveling theme. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...songID=9211042 I felt really stressed out for some reason at the time I was writing this. I don't know why or how I was stressed out. I also kind of had limited time on it (The whole piece took me two hours). Transitions are not supposed to be that glued because it's a concept theme. The movie project I'm composing for is so immense that all the composers who work on it get together and create concepts of different melodies and ideas.

I thought it was good. I can definitly tell when I listen to your music, which is good and bad. Good cause it big compliment to be recognisable. But a little bad cause you have a few melodic changes which you use a lot.
Because it is meant for film you really need to see/have an idea of the images that go with it too give a good idea if it would fit. Love the sence of humour in thread title. A least I am not the only person who thinks the whole labelling hollywood strings is a little silly. You should go back and finish your song The Empire. The melodies in that were so sweet, you just needed a little development to make it awesome. |

Thanks, I was considering working on the Empire theme.
Ah, you got the humor in the title! Yeah, I thought it would draw more attention, ハハ! Thanks for the advice!

Do you play these into the computer through a midi keyboard + sequencer, or do you write it out in a notation program first? Also, what programs (other than the sound libraries) do you use for these?

I play them through a midi keyboard, and edit through the sequencer, like most people do. I only used the sound libraries for sampling, and I used Cubase Studio 5 for sequencing.

I absolutely love the atmosphere you are creating with this piece. The blend of vibes, strings, and woodwinds later on is great and I think it really works well together.
my only criticism is that the level on the flute intrudes on the strings when it first comes in. The line with the clarinet was perfect, register was great and lent itself to such a great timbre. I envy those who have a sense of woodwind orchestration. > ![]() Continue with this bad boy! |
