Hello everyone!
While it's too late to submit an entry, please help out by voting for up to 3! The ultimate goal of this project is to be the ultimate test to compare what the various VIs on the market, including EastWest. Everyone received the exact same midi file, so there's no trying to compare different demos tracks that are designed to hide weaknesses and show off strengths of various libraries here! The more votes, the better, and it's very simple to pick which entries to vote for. While there are 72 entries, you can eliminate a large number of them simply by listening to the first few seconds of the piece. This should be plenty of time to get an idea if the rest is worth listening to or not. You can easily narrow down the remaining entries by comparing the beginning, how they handled the middle section where the strings come in, and the end of the track where the percussion rolls bring it to a close. Once you have picked your 3 entries that you would like to vote for, choose which one you feel is best, and in the email put it as your top vote. Also, it is not required to vote for 3 entries. You can vote for 1, 2, or 3 entries if you feel that only 2, or even only 1 is worthy of your vote, so please don't feel like you just HAVE to use that last vote if you don't hear a 3rd entry that you like. (though this is unlikely to be a problem, since there are quite a few good entries) Here's the main thread over on the sonar forums that probably answers anything I didn't cover: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?&m=2076478&mpage=1 Here's the link to the page for listening to MP3's + voting: (which can also be found on the sonar forums) http://www.wix.com/rbowser/orchestral-shootout/home I hope the mods don't mind having this here. Since several of the entries are EastWest products, it's good ( and free) publicity. Also, it's always good to support your fellow musicians! ![]() After the contest is over, and the voting is done, I'll post my entry in the listening room if anyone's interested. I would post it now, but I don't want to inadvertently influence the voting. |

Is anyone actually voting, or did I just waste my time by putting this here? 51 views and not a single reply?
Please, please PLEASE consider taking 5-10min to have some fun, listen to the entries and VOTE!

That's the only way to get any traffic here. Seriously, I looked at the mp3 page and found it "confusing" to the eye. Then I went to the alternate mp3 page, from my perspective, it would've been interesting if the libraries were labeled. And sorry, I'm a "Trekkie" but I don't want to listen to umpteen version of the Star Trek Theme. Heard it too many times. Next contest, try some Zimmer. KK |
