Hey, guys.
Long time, no see It just occured to me, that I haven't posted anything for a while, so... here's something different: http://strezov.net/projects/54/en This is the music for a short-film, based on Stephen King's work. Room number 4 is a black comedy, that tells us the story of an ordinary guy, who's bitten by a snake, paralyzes and is carried to the local morgue... and he's alive, while the doctors think that he's dead, and so on. The music is jazzy, sometimes scary and has some rock and metal vibe in the final credits. Everything's done with Goliath, EWQL SO Gold, Pianos Gold (and some RA). All the .mp3s in my website are free for download, so don't hesitate if you like the music. I'd be glad to hear your opinions about it! Cheers, George. P.S. If you have problems with the site, just click on "Projects" from the menu in the left side and then click on the first project in the list.

Hey, guys.
Strangely enough, I'm having problems loading the site myself. Perhaps the hosting company has some troubles. I'll post when they get their network fixed.

Heh, it seems that I'd have to work more on my website. Here's a little pic of how it should look like. Clicking on the PLAY icons opens a pop-up window with a nice flash player.

HEY George! Congrats on the gig -- sounds really cool! Would love to see the music with the picture. Oh well, the music was enjoyable on its own. You've definitely created a unique character in the music. For some reason it kind of reminds me of those horror games from a long time ago -- the 7th Guest, the 11th Hour.
First 3 pieces -- Mixes are very clear and dance nicely on the ears. I really like your choice of instruments, really cool jazz vibe My only comment would be that in a few places the arrangements feel *so* clean as to almost empty -- like it's missing a final instrument to fill the background ambiance just for a little more warmth & the finishing touch? But then again, maybe the intention is to feel "cold"? I dunno, can you still retain that *emotional* feeling of coldness while making the arrangement feel completed? who knows. of course it works 95% fine as is. Would love to hear real celli brewing in He's Alive, but I think you did the best you could here. Really cool beat going on here. Love the buildup. Wow you're going really epic! What happens during this massiveness? Bodies -- is it a credits piece? Well done -- way to get the most out of the Goliath guitars... (you would love MOR)... nice reverb. I can't see a timecode on the player but somewhere just past halfway the rhythm seems like it gets off slightly, not sure if this was intentional. then slightly past that when all the instruments come in there is a weird reduction in volume, did the compression come on too strong? really strong finish though man. a solid comprehensive little suite -- great job George!! Wow, what a great comment, Ted! Thank you very much!
To answer your first question - well, the director wanted less music than I felt and decided to fill the gaps with lots of ambience and effects. I think that you're reffering the track "Do you want an apple?", which is made only by a solo piano and upright bass. There are 3 or 4 similar places in the movie, where the music is really soft, consists of 1 or 2 instruments and goes lightly in the background. As for "He's alive" - well, this is a gig that wasn't payed, so I didn't want to hire a cellist to play the solo. I totally agree with you - when I listen to this track now, I can see that the cello ain't realistic enough. As for the picture: our guy (the dead man in the morgue) is lying on a table and the doctors start cutting his flesh... and then he starts bleeding and they realize that he's alive. And soon after that, one of them (a female doc, who's about to be promoted) decides to inject the "dead" guy with a poison... then the two doctors start fighting around the body. It's actually the first scary moment in the movie, cause so far we've got one "dead" guy who's in a morgue, who can't move, but who can think (and talks "through" his thoughts). There is a lot of humour, jokes and etc... but at this certain moment there is an actual threat in front of our main character. Bodies is a credits piece, yes. You're right about the rhythm - I had to do it this way because there is a narrative above. Perhaps I overused limiters and stuff, pretty Loudness-Warish... (my bad totally). I'm not very good with masters, though. As for the movie - it's a student short, the director's graduating. Aaaaand, my inspiration for this movie was Angelo Badalamenti's Twin Peaks. Awesome music! Thanks again, my friend, for your lovely comment. Best wishes, G.

Love in the Morgue is pretty cool! I like the swanky cool groove happening there. I really dig The Golf Course too. Its like jazzy groovin' horror music. Bodies is a tight heavy metal track. I can imagine the bad guy walking down the alley in the rain meaning business. Great job on all those tracks sir! Is that a detuned Harp or a piano in Hes Alive?? I dig that that sound.
