Hi, my name is Kwame...hi...does anybody here own the Bosendorfer? How does it compare to the other vsti keyboard sythns out there? I own East/west gold and it is by far thne most stable library i have in my vast arsnal of goodies. I prefer to stay with the east/west products because belive it or not i have scored some american pie of off it...
True story...those strings makes r$b singers wanna..... anywhoo, I am looking for dark piano sounds with a lil deep bass on the low notes. Thanks ps: Stop software piracy...its not kool. Last edited by Doug Rogers; 07-29-2006 at 11:16 AM. |

I have it, use it and love it. I'm using the DXI version, but I can't imagine the VSTI isn't just as good. LOADS of different samples with a lot of flexibility. The first time I loaded the Basic 8 layer Dry - I was blown away by the sound from the lower register. I ran around grabbing neighbors saying "You gotta hear this!".
I'm sure there are other good piano samplers out there, but the Boes' is great. EAST/WEST Rocks! Rob |

the bose is solid my fried, solid. It has probably the best pedal resonace sampling I've ever heard, nd the instrument they recorded is gorgeous. It has a lot of character and realism and sounds great when used in conjunction with Gold.
A couple observations: I don't know if this means anything, but this piano has a distinctly European or classical sound to it. It is gorgeous and can be used in many capacities, but it's not my 1st choice for pop/rock/jazz stuff. Also, it is panned in reverse of typical piano panning. That is to say the upper register is panned left and the lower register panned right.

In B290 library there are many great patches with wonderful dark piano sounds. I use the B290 library and I think it's great. http://www.soundsonline-forums.com/s...ead.php?t=2962 Cheers

I have the Galaxy and the Bosendorfer 290, and I prefer the B290. THe Galaxy is a more pristine and classical-ish sound (but yes, completely realistic-sounding, especially when you put it into a nice hall).
But I would looooove to sing the praises of the Bosen 290. It has so many variations available to you without any tweaking, and if you use the "dark piano" versions in it, you get a softer, gentler, more filmscore-friendly sound than the other patches. It's a more intimate piano, similar to the sound of the piano that you hear on some of the "LOST" themes. And I rarely have to put it into any kind of hall for effect, because it stands nicely on its own. And the price is a bargain... snatch it up, it'll become your all-around piano library. Kerry |

I notice you folks are singing the praises of the B290...I agree with you -- it's great. That's why i want to keep using it if i upgrade my system to 64-bit. But does anyone out there know if the B290 will be compatible with a 64-bit system?
