I would be very surprised if the trailer was done before Hans Zimmer started composing.

I think it's worth setting the record straight here. Daft Punk composed the score. My friend Joe Trapanese arranged and orchestrated it. It was a two year collaboration, and they recorded live in London. I think Alan Meyerson mixed it at Remote, but that's the extent of that organization's involvement. As far as the orange pants go, that was all Hans.

Cool, I'm glad to hear some wind of the inside! Thanks for sharing. By the way, what do you mean by "orange pants?" That confused me, lol

I guess a red nose would be too conspicuous.

LOL, really? That's pretty funny! I haven't noticed that. I do notice that Chris Young tends to hunch over in a lot of photographs. Does he have a back problem or something?

That's quite funny. I seriously doubt that Daft Punk would look for inspiration there when it comes to film music. Maybe you should watch Electroma to understand their aesthetics better.

You guys can stop calling them rip offs, we do the same thing.

Here's one that's very Tron/Zimmer-like for an upcoming game I'm anticipating: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTb8qijwT3E

And because everyone does the same unimaginative thing, is that a reason to stop calling it unimaginative?

Stravinsky was right, bad composers imitate. A good composer will take anything he wants and make it his own. And a very good composer will take something like that, give due credit for it in the title, and transform it into something like this.

So, the problem is not with taking what's not yours, the problem is with what you make out of it.
