Here's a new piece I am working on for the demo competition. Not quite ready, but almost there. Plan to extend and mix again, but this is just a preview...

good stuff, I'm impress by the guitars sounds, colossus I presume. We can listen the frictions on the cords of guitar.
I like very much the pan's flute. You should still work on the second part because the distorsed guitar seems to be loud and it require more quantize maybe. But I like this piece, if you work the second part that will be very competitive

Very nice demo, I like it a lot, very original.
The idea of the distorted guitars is very good. Good job

Hi Pablo,
Very good. I like the orchestration, the subdued violins at 0:47, the course of the violin section at 1:01, the rythm change at 2:24 and I love the distorted guitar! Cheers, Peer |

I precise : I like the idea of the distorded guitar but I think the distorsion sounds not naturalness and the game of this guitar is not very in place.

Hi Pablo,
Nice work, it's a very neat track. Style-wise reminds me of some of the music from the video game "Chrono Cross" that was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. (IMO he's probably one of the best composers in the video game world) I really like the interesting change towards the end with the distorted guitar. It's kind of a slap in the face compared to the calmer mood before it, but that's cool... it caught me off-guard and I like that. ![]() For suggestions... maybe some more velocity changes in the underlying guitar part. It already sounds very good, but having a few louder plucks here and there would make it sound more life-like. I'm hard-pressed to find any flaws here though. I'd also recommend brightening up the snare a bit (either use a brighter snare sound or you could try boosting the EQ on it around 5 KHz to make it 'snap' a bit more)... it's a little bit 'dull' sounding compared to the other instruments. Very enjoyable to listen to! Cheers, - Matt

Dig it. And I agree that it reminds me of the feeling in Chrono Trigger (which is a good thing).
I also agree the drums and the guitar could use a bit of humanity imparted to them via velocity change and maybe some slight timing fixes. |

Very nice song with a fair melody played by a nice flute patch. I like the guitar patch here, but I think you should do some changes in the arpeggio (and also midi velocity changes) playing almost the same notes until the end, so that the steel guitar gains more live presence. I should also increase (only a little bit) the level of the drums and of the overdriven guitar to make the last part more aggressive (but that's only my taste). However your song is very nice and I like it very much. Cheers

Absolutely great, the sound is great!!!
You managed all the patches in a very incredible manner adding realism and the harmony with the melody, and finally a great change in the rythm!! Absolutely great!!! Roberto
