Default VE Pro Alternative

Are there alternatives to VE Pro? Wanted to see how it would do on a couple of spare iMacs but kinda bummed I have to purchase a usb key to try it, why can't they use iLok? So, are there any other alternatives?

Bidule from Plogue.
Although I never had much success with it...

For now ... VE-Pro Rules. It's the best option for networking (Audio and MIDI).

Unless EW offers something better

Are you serious?..Just buy the keys, you wont regret it,..its a very small price to pay for such an amazing peice of software especially if your serious about composing professionally.

VE Pro Alternative - none.

There is FX-Teleport, but it is 32-bit PC only.

Bidule works for some, but does it does it have the same networking capabilities that VE Pro does? Don't think so...

One would be crazy to pass up VePro over the price of a key.

Default well...

I'm not fretting over the cost of the key, but I wanted to try it out today whilst I had the time plus it would have been nice to see what I can get out of the spare macs lying around the house.

My MacPro (2010 6core 24gb) is doing a good job with HS and all, but I would like to offload some stuff to other computers. Seen as I have the Mac version of HS, I can't go and build a PC slave (unless I can legally download just the VST plugin) and buying Mac slaves is cost prohibitive, so I was curious to see what our other household macs could do.

Unless I am mistaken, you can get a second license for HS (Diamond) for free, if that is interesting for you you might want to contact sales support at EW tomorrow and see if you can a second PC version.

Or maybe just a second license for mac, if you want to use your now idle macs.

Whether PC or mac though, VE Pro works on both platforms / cross platform (somebody correct me if I'm wrong).

VERY cross platform. Running it now on 5 pcs and 3 macs. Works like a charm.
