Hey guys,
it's been some time since my last post, I haven't been very active lately on the musical side, and I am sorry I didn't keep in touch, The good news is that I'm up and running again, for a change. The bad news is that I didn't finish anything properly yet. If you feel like listening to some c**p, though, please have a go at Song for a Distant Land on my SoundCloud page. I think there's room for improvement (which probably involves better transitions), but I'd like to hear what you think. Any comments or insults will be valued as usual. Cheers, and greetings from Meridian Zero. |

Hey, Fabio!
That french horn is so beautiful in the beginning. PLEASE, do some CC#7 edits on the sustained notes in the violins - they are so flat, without dynamic changes... and too loud for that beautiful melody. That's not only in the beginning - lots of great melodies out there, which are swallowed by the violins. Really nice music - would love to hear that edited!

Georgie, thanks for the feedback. I used some CC#11, but probably using the volume makes more sense. I guess I'll need to revisit the strings a little bit, and probably layer them with some other library (LASS is way too flat, even with my chain of Vintage Compressor/Stereo Enhancer/Reverb and EQ on them).
Any clever way of adding "density" to the sound without overloading my poor pc? |
