I'm new here, so a dumb question is OK, I hope!
Just got Hollywood Strings Diamond and Hollywood Brass Diamond. The drives have Gold and Diamond on them. I assume I don't need the gold samples on my sample drive, just the bigger library? I didn't know whether I needed the others if I decided to use 16 bit? Thanks in advance- EJ Wells |

Whether you buy the Diamond or Gold edition, EW usually ships you a drive with both versions... but you only get the license for the version you bought. So if you bought the Diamond version, you won't need the Gold samples.
Also... those that buy the Gold version get the Gold license, and they get a trial license for Diamond (at least that's how they did it back when I got HS Gold...).

Ha! I had this exact question about Hollywood Strings Diamond when I got it. No one knew, so I installed both libraries. (It is confusing because there is no Diamond library: just a Gold and a Hollywood Strings.)
I thought Diamond users were authorized to use Gold as well and should do so in cases in which memory was constrained. Not a big deal, but something I am curious about just in case I have a memory issue at some point. I use a LOT of virtual instruments. |

I wanted to know because my EWQL content alone is pusing a TB, and anything I can do to free up space on my 2TB EWQL dedicated drive is important.
