Went to see it for the second time last night -- and this time around I specifically tried to pay more attention to the music after remembering to myself that I couldn't recall any of the music from the first viewing. I was a bit shocked to realize like everyone else that the score really didn't try to say much at all -- and impressed because as others pointed out, it didn't need to! Wow!!!

What was also enjoyable the second time around was listening more to the audience experience the movie for the first time. Like seeing kids in a toy store. By far my favorite film this year!

Loved the movie!

I think the score worked as it was supposed to work. Nice brass theme, overall the music supported the scenes well.
Not something I would listen to without the movie though.

The best line in the movie was when Captain America, giving out instructions, told Hulk what to do. The audience in my theatre loved Hulk's response.

I too did not make any significant notes regarding the score, but I do plan to go back and see it again; this time in IMAX 3D, so I'll try to pay better attention.

I suppose, if a movie does not leave a lot for scoring, one might allow a big splashy theme to play as the closing credits roll by.

I assume not though (haven't seen it yet). Maybe that's too bad, as the composer doesn't get to shine on what appears to be a blockbuster film.

Great movie great cinematography great script acting and CG seriously I could find nothing to really gripe about in this pic and the comedy was spot on. I recommend this movie even to non super hero fans as its was just THAT good saw it 7 times already and already anticipating the 3D Blu Ray release. Got the soundtrack and have been really learning some new techniques from Mr.Silevstri that have added some nice oomph into my own works.

Anyone who has not see this movie WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

Just saw this today and was blown away, absolutely loved it. I'm not sure how people seem to have missed the score, I felt it was a constant (and significant) presence, but it was so good that it was just part of the fabric of the film. everything was appropriate and nailed just the right emotions for me. except for the 1 main theme, which was solid, I didn't find it particularly memorable, but I don't think it needed to be. in the moment it was fitting and powerful. I feel like other recent action/superhero scores (x-men first class, transformers, etc) try to achieve what this film does but silvestri, whedon and the others involved here know what they're doing and they killed it, imho... just shows the difference between average and great scoring (/filmmaking).

also, as a side note, I felt the only thing that wasn't phenomenal was Sam Jackson as Nick Fury. I dunno, apparently the Ultimate Marvel version of the character was based on Jackson himself, so maybe he subconsciously felt like he didn't have to try as much or something... felt like he was just reading lines. obviously he's a box office draw, and has been in all the other films, and his performance was decent enough, but I felt someone else (Lance Reddick?) maybe could have brought an interesting depth to the character.
