Default EWQLSO Silver/Gold?

Hello everybody!

I'm thinking of buying the EWQLSO Silver or Gold Edition. Now I'm working with many different libraries mainly the Advanced Orchestra that I dub with some live Violins and Custom Samples. Sounds OK but I need to do alot of work before it has that "big sound to it. So I hope that EWQLSO is the way to go? I need really good sounding Staccatos /short up/downs for all the strings instruments. The silver edition does'nt have short Up/downs for the Violas? true? Does Gold have them?
I've also heard that the cellos from EWQLSO don't sound that great compared to VSL's for example?

Should I go for the Pro Editions? I am kinda lost in this jungle!!

I mainly work with games/short films and my main computer is a Mac G5 dual 1.8 2ghz RAM, OSX Panther and my sequencer is Logic 7...could I run either Gold/SIlver on this computer without to many problems?

Thanks in Advance,
Philo

I am a partisan VSL supporter, but from what you write, I'd say get Gold. I have Silver, and the cellos are great. The string articulations could be better, but Gold's articulations are heads and tails better than silver's. Also, for $500 you really can't go wrong on Gold. Especially if you are looking for a big sound right outa the box.

When I bought Silver, like 2 days later Gold went on sale for half price - would have rather gotten Gold. But then again, Silver is very easy for my dual G4 to handle. Your G5 should have no problem if you have at least 2Gigs of RAM.

Pro Edition is like, what, $4000 and tends to work best with multiple machines. So that's a totally different proposition.

I actually had the chance to play around with a friends VSL for a few days....and sure it sounds great. But I found that the quality of it depended alot on what kind of reverb you use and how many different you plan on using at the same time for different instruments. Of course this could be very demanding on the CPU if you plan (like I do) to only use software reverbs. The EWQLSO is recorded with it's natural reverb so it should make it sound better and be less of a strain on the CPU. Maybe I can get away with only using one good reverb to make everything blend? How about the staccatos, then? The VSL's are great I know they are probably the best, but how far of are the EWQLSO you think. Should I also have a look att Sonic Implants? I know alot of people who are happy with them.

Correction .......

The Gold pro upgrade is $995 and has 30% discount untill it starts shipping !

BTW Gold pro will give you everything that is in the old Platinum and everything in the
Platinum pro upgrade except that Gold pro has just one mic position and is 16 bit instead
of 24 bit

Gold Pro Sounds pretty good to me!! I'm not to interested in those different mic positions anyway. Good alternations and repetitions are far more important (to me) if you want the mock-ups to sound good..

Why can't you find these in Gold?

-11V Quick Up Dn.nki

Do they have another name in Gold or am I missing something. Is the silver library included in the Gold?

Sorry..if this might be a dumb question...

correction to the correction. Pro Edition refers to VSL's full-on 130GB library. Was not refering to Gold Pro. But good to clarify, being that the names sound similar.
