Well first of all let me state that I think its rediculous about what happened at Northern Sounds, if I understand the situation fully. But PaPa Chalk has always been a tight-ass from what I hear. So good job Doug and Nick by fighting the "MAN" and saying screw you NS, we're making our OWN forum!
Anywho For those that don't know me and haven't heard my music I'm 18 and am soon going to attend the Florida Sate College of music, and hope to one day be a succesfull film media composer. So here are a couple of tracks using Gold, hope you enjoy them! Hi,
I keep thinking what a wonderful time it is for anyone, especially for someone at the beginning of their music career. So many tools and so much technology. You must have repaired your links because they worked for me (I just watched the two film clips). I thought you did a very nice job on both. Dave PS - I missed out on the TCM Young Film Composers Contest... let's see, I enjoy contests, I'm a film composer or am still trying to be... oh yeah, I remember why I didn't enter. It was the "young" criteria that kept me out of that one. :-) |

It is indeed a great time for young musicians, i love my samples. BUT this means the competition is greater, therefor I gotta have that EXTRA edge of creativity.

Musically the rescored scene from Day after Tommorow is excellent, however it's rather hard to hear the dialouge in the soundscape you've created.
I'm clueless when it comes to mixing, but perhaps trying to find that "sonic hole" - those frequencies that aren't being used by the dialouge - would allow it to come through better. |

Where'd you get Day After Tomorrow with just Dialogue and effects w/o music. Just wondering. By the way great job sounds like it could be the real score.

Christian B at V.I. Forum set up where 7 composers scored the same clip. So he sent me the video/audio track. He originally ripped it off the DVD, where in the Special Features they have this scene with 7 audio tracks and you can listen how they mixewd it down. You can check out the ooriginal post here http://www.vi-control.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=950 . If you want to score the scene for fun I could send it to you through aim. So just give me a holler if so!
