Default Attn: Anyone who owns any of the drumkit libraries

I need help understanding how they work. The demo's for Drumkit From Hell sound really good but are those just pre-recorded loops that come with the package? I just need something that can make realistic sounding drum beats, I'm not worried about having a billion samples or loops made by famous drummers. Mostly I need to make cymbals and open hi-hat sound natural. Any advice is appreciated, thanks -steve

Hi Steve,

if you search for real sounding Drumsounds... DFH Superior is for you. It doesn't offer loops but you have to EQ/Master/Compression on your own. If you search for out of the box good sounding drums.. than take a look at EZDrummer (soundsonline.com) with its expansions or Addictive Drums.

The EZDrummer and AD includes midi files as patterns. They can be edited and drag&dropped in your sequenzer.

Cool thanks..i guess I will have to check one of them out to really understand how it works. So you're saying EZDrummer is already compressed/EQed etc?
I can make ok sounding beats with samples I have but to duplicate the sound of a cymbal or open hi hat really being played hard and fast sounds absurd if you're just using audio files lined up haha.

EZ drummer, and DKFH Superior are ENTIRELY different programs.

Though they contain some of the same sounds samples, they are drastically different, so be aware
before buying.

You want EZ Drummer. It has midi files included, wich will give you plenty of patterns (Beats) to choose
from, and are freely editable for those moments you need an open hihat, a roll, or a crash, etc...

DKFH Superior comes with only sounds, no pre made midi files. You have to program it yourself,
and they are not pre mixed sounds, they are totally raw.

Best of luck!

I would second the recommendatiion of EZDrummer and any of the EZX Expansion Kits

Alternatively, if you don't care about having pre-made drum patterns to use, Native Instruments Battery 3 has a ton of different drum samples and drum kits
