Default Old school swashbuckler - Work In progress

Hello folks

Here's a track I'm working on at the moment.
It's a pirate adventure type piece in an old school (non-Zimmery) style. It's very unfinished and needs a lot of work in terms of expressivity, but I'm having fun doing it.
It's 99% Hollywood Orchestra.

Even unfinished it's already 9 minutes long so I appreciate it's a big ask, but if anyone has the time to listen I'd really appreciate some feedback.

Thanks

Orchestration-wise it's great and I like the motifs.

What you'll definitely want to work on for MIDI mock-ups
is the usage of MIDI CC data for more expression and emotion
in your individual tracks.
At the moment, the individual instruments are rather "mechanic",
as in, they don't sound quite like a live musician would be playing it.

There are some parts where the volume and dynamics have abrupt
differences in it. This could be evened out for a smoother flow.

All in all, great job, and I'd love to hear an update when you're done(-ish).

Thanks very much for the positive response Lorenz!

Yes, at the moment there is virtually no CC shaping at all - so lots of work to do there!

How do you think it sounds in terms of reverb and spatial verisimilitude? I'm using appropriate sectional reverbs in SPACES with a little additional algo on the master. I'm just not sure about it though. Maybe I should be subtly EQing here and there to help with the simulation of depth/layout? Also, there's a LOT of orchestrational detail going on in there - I don't want things to get unrealistically lost!

Anyway, I'll probably post again when it's done.

Thanks!
